Team

Carsten Claussen brings his extensive leadership experience to ScreeningPort. He has wide executive management experience, including as CEO of Evotec Technologies, now part of PerkinElmer, Inc., and as Member of Evotec AG’s Executive Management Committee. Carsten is Guest Professor for Entrepreneurship and sits on the boards of several start-up companies.

Philip Gribbon is responsible for Operations and Science at European ScreeningPort. He brings considerable experience in drug discovery programs across a wide range of target classes acquired while working at Pfizer and GSK. Philip has a PhD in Biophysics from Imperial College, London.

Sheraz Gul joined ESP after 7 years experience of drug discovery within GlaxoSmithKline ranging from target validation, developing assays for screening, lead optimisation and candidate characterisation. He has a BSc, PhD and 5 years postdoctoral research from the University of London and is the co-author of 11 papers and the Enzymes Assays: Essential Data handbook.

Mira Grättinger is in charge of Project Management and Marketing at the European ScreeningPort. She previously established the assay development and screening department at a Munich biotech company before taking over responsibility for their Business Development. She holds a diploma in biology and a PhD in biochemistry from the Universities of Regensburg and Hamburg.

Joern Lenz comes to the European ScreeningPort directly from University of Hamburg and holds degrees in pharmacy and bioinformatics. At the ESP he is in charge of discovery and screening informatics and also contributes his knowledge in pharmacology. He is currently finalizing his PhD in pharmacy/bioinformatics.

Matthias Rath contributes his expertise in Bioinformatics and Information Technology to the ScreeningPort team. Matthias comes to European ScreeningPort from c.a.r.u.s. Information Technology AG. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Kiel.

Markus Wolf comes to ESP after 2 years stationed at the University of Cincinnati to set up a screening laboratory and train personnel to use HTS equipment.  He previously worked for both Evotec and PerkinElmer running and maintaining screening systems used for drug discovery.
